More than 70 million Brazilians of are now currently out of work, according to official numbers released in May. That is more than 50% of the work force. The staggering figures include those who were already unemployed and those who lost their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And despite an emergency aid payment to citizens being handed out to those in need, many are still struggling to put food on the table.
