Tutorial on How to Draw a Majestic Humpback Whale Underwater

Humpback Whales are beautiful creatures who communicate with one another through their distinctive songs which travel great distances. Vastly being studied by scientists for their uniqueness has not however, prevented them from being targeted by the whaling industry, making at risk of extinction. Drawing these animals is of course not as special as seeing one, but it is still enchanting to analyse their pictures to create an art piece portraying them.

Today i created this piece as a tutorial on how to draw a Humpback Whale underwater. The water surrounding the whale is drawn using circular motions to show its movement when the whale is in motion.
The colours used for the whale and the ocean are very similar, as i wanted to portray the togetherness and the extent of these animals and their lives being embedded with the ocean, in order to depict the argument of separating these animals from the homes which made them, to be a barbaric action.
