She couldn’t believe this. It wasn’t as if she was about to dine and dash. She had the money in her hand. Then, she realized what the waitress was looking at. Her face burned red with embarrassment.
Enough was enough. All she wanted was a nice family meal. It had been months since she got to eat out. But things were looking bleak. Everyone was staring at them. The whispers were getting louder and louder as she waited patiently for the to-go box. What was taking so long? When the woman finally returned, she was at a loss for words.
Courtney was young. The whole world was waiting for her. Once she finished High School, she did as much traveling as she possibly could. She loved meeting new people.
