US President Donald Trump has suggested coronavirus patients be injected with disinfectant as a way to fight the virus. Speaking from the White House podium, Mr Trump said “I see that disinfectant knocks it out in a minute, one minute”.
“Is there a way that we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see it gets in the lungs and does a tremendous number,” he said.
“It would be interesting to check that. It sounds interesting to me.”
The Department of Homeland Security Science Chief backed away from the suggestion, warning injecting disinfectant into the human body could be fatal.
