But there were 4 years between 2016's DOOM and this highly anticipated sequel... Even the Doom Slayer can get lonely...
If you're familiar with my work here on the channel, you may have realised that the thrashing, apocalyptic metal sound so synonymous with DOOM is NOT exactly in my wheelhouse... So when working out exactly what to do for this epic game, I decided to go back to its roots... No, not the classic original shooter... The 90s. And what's more 90s than a boyband ballad? Nothing. That's what.
This project was an interesting (and stressful!) one for me. I had originally planned for it to be released alongside the game with a much bigger, more complex, studio produced video. But with the global crisis ongoing and the lock-down coming into effect the day of the proposed video shoot, things did not go to plan!
So this video marks my first video fully produced from home since 'Art of Darkness' a year ago! So I have to give a MASSIVE thanks to my Patrons over on Patreon for their support, which enabled me to upgrade my home equipment to make this video possible and to my amazing housemates for their help (and patience!) as I turned the house upside-down for the weekend!
I'm very proud of how this video turned out considering it was shot almost entirely in my living room. It's not quite the video I planned, but hey, now you get to see the Slayer at home!
Even the fiercest warrior in all of Argent D'Nur has to self isolate right now!
The world is a scary place at the minute. I hope you're all staying safe out there, keeping that vital social distance wherever you can. And if you're on the front lines, out there working to protect us all, sincerely, thank you.
But the rest of us can all work together to keep each other safe, by staying home and making good choices.
We'll get through this! Stay safe and healthy. Wash your hands.
